What’s the difference between ‘flour and ‘flower’?

Flour and flower are homophones in English; they are both pronounced /flaʊəʳ /  but have different spellings and their meanings are completely different.

flour

Flour is a variable noun. Flour is a white or brown powder that is made by grinding grain. It is used to make breadcakes, and pastry.

Thicken the stew with a little flour dissolved in water
Combine flours and salt in a separate large bowl.

flower

Flower is a countable noun, A flower is the part of a plant which is often brightly coloured and grows at the end of a stem.

Each individual flower is tiny. 
He gave me a bunch of flowers for my birthday.
