What’s the difference between ‘hair’ and ‘hare’?

Hair and hare are homophones in English; they are both pronounced /heəʳ/  but have different spellings and their meanings are completely different.

hair

Hair is a variable noun. Your hair is the fine threads that grow in a mass on your head, or on other parts of your body.

I wash my hair every night. 
He has black hair
The majority of men have hair on their chest. 

hare

Hare is a countable noun. A hare is an animal like a rabbit but larger with long ears, long legs, and a small tail.

The hare population grows dramatically when there is plenty of vegetation
